Dear Year 8 Loreto girls,
We ask for God’s blessing as I write to you today and for the grace of God to descend upon us all and give us the strength to love and care or each other.
Today I aim to open your eyes to the life and work of Mary Ward, encouraging you all to follow in her footsteps and be a good soldier of Jesus Christ. As Year 8 Loreto students, you are continuing to build new friendships and grow as an individual. Throughout these times, may we place Jesus in the centre of our lives and faith, so he can guide us down the right path when we need help.
Throughout your journey this year and the years to follow, you must remember that we all differ from each other and we must learn to support and value each other and celebrate our differences. As Loreto girls you must also incorporate Mary Ward’s values in your faith. Sincerity is a key value Mary Ward lived by, she once said “we should be such as we appear and appear such as we are.” To incorporate this into our lives, we must be true to ourselves and remember that we don’t have to be friends with everyone, but we must treat everyone as we want to be treated.
May we be in God’s presence and thank God for watching over us like a mother cares for her child. We ask God to give us strength and resilience to get through tough times and challenges when we need his advice and teachings.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
We thank our God for giving us this special moment to reflect and think about our lives as Year 8 Loreto students. May God’s peace be among you and remember to live in accordance with God’s will.
Sincerely,
St Paul
